Sustaining the future of the Stewards network…

Stewards Sustainers

To strengthen the future impact of the Stewards of the Georgia Coast network, we established the Stewards Sustainers program in 2023. Alongside our original three founders, Stewards Sustainers provide financial support for the Stewards effort, broadening our collective of investors and offering strategic leadership and energy to ensure the network’s continued success.

Tax-deductible gifts to the Stewards Sustainers program are processed by our fiscal sponsor, the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation, and can be designated in the following ways:

Operating Expenses

Gifts offsetting the costs of Stewards programming, increasing our outreach, amplifying our mission, and ensuring the Stewards network’s long-term sustainability

Conservation Grantmaking

Undesignated gifts to coastal conservation, collectively managed by a Stewards advisory committee and redistributed periodically to nonprofit conservation partner organizations

Crowdfunding

Gifts supporting special coastal conservation projects that have unusual urgency, made in response to Stewards’ occasional campaigns for particularly compelling and time-sensitive needs of coastal conservation nonprofit organizations

Our Top Priority: Direct Support for Coastal Conservation Nonprofits

We emphasize that Stewards’ top priority remains the direct philanthropic support of our coastal conservation partner nonprofit organizations highlighted via Stewards events and communications, including the Directory of Conservation Organizations Serving the Georgia Coast and the Coastal Conservation Project List. We intend that Sustainers’ financial gifts to Stewards should complement (and not replace or reduce) their commitments to other coastal conservation nonprofits.
